1. Amazing Grace

Amazing grace! how sweet the sound,
That saved a wretch; like me!
I once was lost, but now am found,
Was blind, but now I see.

’Twas grace that taught my heart to fear,
And grace my fears relieved;
How precious did that grace appear
The hour I first believed!

The Lord hath promised good to me,
His word my hope secures;
He will my shield and portion be
As long as life endures.

When we’ve been there ten thousand years,
Bright shining as the sun,
We’ve no less days to sing God’s praise
Than when we first begun.

John Newton (1725-1807)

2. Before the throne of God above

Before the throne of God above
I have a strong and perfect plea
A great High Priest whose name is love
Who ever lives and pleads for me
My name is graven on His hands
My name is written on His heart
I know that while in heav’n He stands
No tongue can bid me thence depart
No tongue can bid me thence depart

When Satan tempts me to despair
And tells me of the guilt within
Upward I look and see Him there
Who made an end to all my sin
Because the sinless Saviour died
My sinful soul is counted free
For God the Just is satisfied
To look on Him and pardon me
To look on Him and pardon me

Behold Him there, the risen Lamb
My perfect, spotless Righteousness
The great unchangeable I AM
The King of glory and of grace
One with Himself, I cannot die
My soul is purchased by His blood
My life is hid with Christ on high
With Christ my Savior and my God
With Christ my Savior and my God

3. Behold our God

Who has held the oceans in His hands?Who has numbered every grain of sand?
Kings and nations tremble at His voice
All creation rises to rejoice

Behold our God seated on His throne
Come, let us adore Him
Behold our King! Nothing can compare
Come, let us adore Him!

Who has given counsel to the Lord?
Who can question any of His words?
Who can teach the One Who knows all things?
Who can fathom all His wondrous deeds?

Who has felt the nails upon His hands
Bearing all the guilt of sinful man?
God eternal humbled to the grave
Jesus, Savior risen now to reign!

4. Father, you are King of Heaven

Father, you are King of Heaven
and greater than us all
Everything is in your hands
from huge right down to small

Sometimes I forget
that I can’t do things on my own
Please now help me pray to you
and trust in you alone

It’s like an earthworm trying to press-ups
Like a potato trying to swim
Like a mountain trying to brush its teeth
When we don’t rely on him.
When we pray we trust our Father,
That’s what Jesus said
So I’ll stop trusting in myself
and pray to God instead

Father, help me now to pray
and spend some time with you
Father, you are always good
in all you say and do
Sometimes I forget
that I can share what’s on my mind
Please now help me pray to you
knowing that you are kind

5. God showed us his love

While we were still sinners
God showed us his love
By sending us his own son
Jesus died for us

God showed us his love
When Jesus died for us
While we were his enemies
God showed us his love

How do we know what love is?
God showed us his love
By sending us his own Son
Jesus died for us

While we were lost and without hope
You rescued us with your great love

Why should we love each other?
God showed us his love
By sending us his own Son
Jesus died for us

6. It’s a light and a hammer

Hold the power of the universe in your hand
Hold the words that shaped the sky and sea and land
The King has given words to us, to tell us what he’s like
Open up your ears and let his Spirit strike

It’s a light and a hammer
It’s a fire and a sword
It’s the voice of our Father
The word of the Lord
The blade of the Spirit can cut to the soul
And God will use it to make us whole

Hear the news of the promised king who came to save
Hear the news of Jesus who rose from the grave
Our King has come to live on earth and rescue us from sin
Open up your mind and let his Spirit in

Know the name of Jesus Christ that makes us new
Know the Son of God, the Word whose word is true
Our King has spoken to us, so there is no place for pride
He gives hearts of flesh and changes us inside

7. It’s a new new day

Thank you Father for today
Teach me how to choose your way
Help me lift my eyes to see who you are
You are faithful, always true
Every good thing comes from you
Meet me in your word and help me worship you

It’s a new new day to sing your praise
It’s a new new day to walk in your ways
It’s a new new day to make you known
It’s a new new day to see your kingdom grow

Jesus you are all I need
Thank you that you died for me
Help me know you’ll always be here with me
I am weak but you are strong
When I stumble you hold on
Help me turn away from sin and worship you

It’s a new new day…

It’s a gift of time you give
One more day for us to live
One more chance for us to call
On the name of Christ the Lord

8. Lift up your voices

Come on, come in, everybody
There is a God who is worthy
Of all our praise – he alone is Lord
Come on and join with creation
Let everything shout to praise him
Glory to Christ – he’s the one who made us

Lift up your voices to heaven’s king
Bow down before his throne
Our perfect Saviour died for our sin
Hallelujah!
Praise to Jesus Christ the king

Come on, come in, all you weary
Come on and find rest with Jesus
He is the one who can heal your soul
Come on and join with the angels
Praising the Lamb who was faithful
Giving his life – he’s the one who saved us

Come on, you saints, keep believing
Gather to hear the Lord speaking
Humble your hearts, tremble at his voice
Come in with joy for the future
He will renew heaven and earth
Jesus is Lord – he’s the one who’ll raise us

9. Never

I’m like a jar of clay, weak and so small
Keep fighting every day
To trust in the Lord
Battered, bruised and nearly broken
Under pressure from each side
Never crushed, my God has spoken
With his word I’m satisfied

Never have you let me down, O Jesus
Never will you let me go
Never will you turn your back on me,
You never leave me on my own
You never give me more than I can carry
Never let me fight alone
Never are my prayers to you unanswered
Never does your love run low

Inside these jars of clay
Weak and so small
Your treasure’s on display
Good news for all
Jesus lived and died, he’s risen
Soon he’s coming back again
We will speak the words you’ve given
Come and meet our faithful friend!

Now through these jars of clay
Fragile and frail
Your strength is on display
You never fail
When I’m weak and still keep going
It’s your power at work in me
Lord, your love will keep me growing
Your grace is enough for me

10. Only a holy God

Who else commands all the hosts of heavenWho else could make every king bow down
Who else can whisper and darkness trembles
Only a Holy God

What other beauty demands such praises
What other splendour outshines the sun
What other majesty rules with justice
Only a Holy God

Come and behold Him
The One and the Only
Cry out, sing holy
Forever a Holy God
Come and worship the Holy God

What other glory consumes like fire
What other power can raise the dead
What other name remains undefeated
Only a Holy God

Who else could rescue me from my failing
Who else would offer His only Son
Who else invites me to call Him Father
Only a Holy God
Only my Holy God!

11. Turn your eyes upon Jesus

Turn your eyes upon Jesus
Look full in His wonderful face
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim
In the light of His glory and grace

Turn your eyes to the hillside
Where justice and mercy embraced
There the Son of God gave His life for us
And our measureless debt was erased

Jesus, to You we lift our eyes
Jesus, our glory and our prize
We adore You, behold You, our Saviour ever true
Oh Jesus, we turn our eyes to You

Turn your eyes to the morning
And see Christ the Lion awake
What a glorious dawn, fear of death is gone
For we carry His life in our veins

Turn your eyes to the heavens
Our King will return for His own
Every knee will bow, every tongue will shout,
‘All glory to Jesus alone!’

12. We all, like sheep

We all, like sheep
Have gone astray
Each of us turned
To our own way
God sees our sin
He knows our hearts
He sent his Son
To die for us

So we turn away from sin
To believe and trust in him
Because Jesus died and rose again
We are his forgiven friends

Led like a lamb
Taken away
Nailed to a cross
Laid in a grave
Stricken by God
Crushed for our sin
Our punishment
Poured out on him

Out with the old
In with the new
Eyes that were blind
See what is true
No longer slaves
God made us sons
He paid the price
Our guilt is gone
